What Is A Mandala?

A mandala represents the Universe and the spiritual aspect of the human experience.  It can be used as a spiritual teaching tool, a catalyst to help center yourself, calm the soul, and quiet the mind.  Sometimes it is used in meditation or used like you would use rosary beads or a crucifix. A mandala is typically a geometrical object shaped like a circle, square, or triangle and includes lines, angles, words, images of a deity, or an attribute of a deity.  In some cultures and beliefs, it is known as a yantra, a sacred art form.
